Hi! I’m Naveen, a Postdoctoral Associate at the University at Buffalo. Originally from India, I came to the U.S. to pursue a master’s in Civil Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and later earned my Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University, along with a master’s in Statistics. My doctoral research focused on earthquake engineering, where I used statistical tools to tune stochastic ground motion models and improve simulations for better hazard assessment, sparking my interest in probabilistic modeling and data-driven methods for real-world problems. Before joining UB, I worked as an instructor, teaching probability and statistics to undergraduate students. At UB, I’m currently helping with ISMIP7 data preparation and exploring this new area of research, broadly focused on how data-driven methods can improve sea-level projections. Outside of work, I enjoy badminton, soccer, outdoor activities, and spending time with friends.
