Hi! I am Donglai Yang (2nd year M.S.) and I design numerical experiments to study the dynamics of ice flow. I look at what makes the glaciers around Greenland Ice Sheet become thinner over the past 20 years. We know that the warming ocean is one of the biggest culprits, but it is not the only one — it has probably set off a chain reaction of processes in the glacier system but little is known how this differs across different types of glaciers. You can find more information on this current project (and past projects) in my personal website: donglaiyang.org. When I am not coding and running models, you can find me biking, climbing, and practicing blues guitar.
