My name is Brayden White, and I am a master's student at the University at Buffalo. I am originally from New Hampshire, where I studied Environmental Science in my undergraduate studies. It was in my senior year that I gained interest in the cryosphere, specifically glaciology, which I am studying here at UB. I am particularly interested in rock glaciers and how they respond to changes in climate, as well as what influences rock glacier formation. Rock glaciers hold particular importance, now more than ever, as ice glaciers continue to melt with rapid climate change. Acting as significant stores of water, rock glaciers are becoming a major source of water for high alpine permafrost environments. Outside of my research, I enjoy various outdoor activities such as biking, climbing, hiking, running, golfing, and skiing.
